Cotton can be sold from producer to consumer or it can pass through several hands, each party within the chain wants to be sure that their goods are in safe hands in terms of weight, quality etc. Generally the single most aspect of a cotton controller is that they are independent. They are neither buyers or sellers. Nor are they agents. Only work for one party in any transaction, a controller can represents either buyer or seller.

Cotton controlling can be either for exports – PSI (for export consignments). Post shipment / on arrival (for imported cotton).
